About the Shire of Leigh	Leigh Road District created 27 August 1861 Shire proclaimed 22 March 1864 Shire redefined 10 October 1900 Shire reduced and redefined 29 November 1977 Amalgamated into Golden Plains Shire 1993-94 The Shire Hall was located at Warrambine - also known as Halfway - as it was located half way between the main towns of Rokewood and Shelford. This building is now the home of the Leigh Historical Society.
