HOW TO SUBSCRIBE and UNSUBSCRIBE
It's easy -- just click on the list you want below. When the "mail-to" window pops up, type just the single word
subscribe
in the SUBJECT FIELD and the BODY of the message. That's all - no other words!
If you want to unsubscribe from a list, click on the relevant link below and type just the single word
unsubscribe
in the SUBJECT FIELD and the BODY of the message. That's all - no other words!

- Mail (List) mode - if you subscribe to
the list in this mode,
you receive each message as a separate email.
- AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-D-request@rootsweb.com - Digest mode - if you subscribe to the list in this mode, you receive a group of messages batched together in one mail.
Important Note 1: Please make sure that you are sending in PLAIN TEXT otherwise your subscription to the Mailing List will not work.
Important Note 2: You cannot subscribe to both modes with the SAME email address - you must have a different email address for each mode.
Remember that your subscribe / unsubscribe message may still be sitting in your email outbox until you actually send it. You will know if you've successfully subscribed as you'll receive a "Welcome" email back.
Clicking on either of the above options should bring up your email box for you to send a message - if your system doesn't work that way, then open your email system and send an email to the relevant address above with the word subscribe / unsubscribe as required in the SUBJECT FIELD and the BODY of the message. If all else fails, ask for help!
HOW TO SEND MESSAGES
Once you've successfully subscribed to the list, you can send messages. Instructions on how to do this were in your "Welcome message" but if you can't find that, just click on this address and send us your message ...
HOW TO CHANGE YOUR SUBSCRIBED EMAIL ADDRESS
The Rootsweb computer system treats your old and new email addresses as two different "people". Until new functions become available at Rootsweb some time in the future, to change your email address you need to subscribe your new email address and unsubscribe your old email address. (Instructions above).
If you no longer have access to your old email address then send a message to the List Admin with details of your old address and the name of the list with a request to remove this email address and the reason.

Continuous bombardment of the list promoting publications and websites
Advertisement for services genealogy or otherwise (except for APPROVED groups as per above.)
Messages cross-posted to multiple lists - these are generally off-topic anyway!
