• Accident, 13 Oct 1898, Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. 4 Singleton Argus : Thursday 13 October 1898, p.1

A lad named Harry Niall, aged 6 years, who was kicked by a horse at Maitland on Sunday evening, and sustained a broken ankle, is a state of a life, although yet stout, full of ill-luck. Previous accidents which young Niall has met with consist of a broken arm, a broken nose, and being scalded by falling into a boiler of hot water. These, with the fact that, he has only just recovered from an attack of inflammation of the lungs, added to his present broken ankle, sum up a very unfortunate kind of record for a six year-old.
