bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• Biography. Worked at Inkerman Station (between Bowen and Ayr, North Qld) where he met and married Jessie. It was stated on their marriage certificate that his occupation was bushman, and that he resided at Inkerman. They lived at Killarney Farm (sugar cane), Clare Road, Ayr, and successfully farmed the property for a number of years. Then when the Inkerman Estate was thrown open for settlement they returned in 1912, and James took up a selection of farming land on Kirknie Rd, Home Hill. Two years later in 1914, he died. Son James Joseph (junior), known as Joe, took over that farm which was his home til he too passed away.

James married Jessie MACKERSIE, daughter of James MACKERSIE and Elizabeth MACLEAY, on 3 Jul 1895 in Presbyterian Church, Bowen, North Queensland, Australia. (Jessie MACKERSIE was born on 19 Mar 1872 in Tamborine, Sandy Creek, Upper Albert River, Sth East Queensland, Australia, died on 26 Nov 1948 and was buried in Ayr Cemetery, Queensland, Australia.)
