The death occurred in Dangar Cottage Hospital, Singleton, on 17th inst., of Mr. Thomas Stapleton, a well-known resident of Glendon Brook and formerly of West Maitland and district. Deceased was 61 years of age. He was a brother of Mr. R. F. Stapleton (of this office), Mr. Ben Stapleton, (Maul's Creek. Boggabri), and Mrs. C. Niall and Mrs. A. Taylor (West Maitland). The funeral moved from the residence of Mr. Burgmann, in Pitt-street, to All Saints' Church, thence to the C. of E. cemetery at Sedgefield, where his remains were laid beside those of his wife, who had predeceased him about seven years. The cortege was added to along the road and at the cemetery by a large number of friends of the deceased. The chief mourners were Mr. Chas. Stapleton and wife (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. A. Woods (son-in-law and daughter), Miss M. Stapleton (daughter), Mr. R. F. Stapleton (brother), Mr. J. and Mrs. Nicholls (brother-in-law and sister-in-law), Mrs. R. Hollingsworth and daughter (sister-in-law and niece), Mr. Arch Kay (brother-in-law), Messrs. C. McGovern and C. Niall (brothers-in-law), Jim Niall and Harry McGovern (nephews), Wm. Kannar (Singleton), and W. Walker (Mayfield), Mr. and Mrs. Burgmann.

• Biography. Living in Church Street, West Maitland when daughter Mary Agnes born in 1895. Sponsors when baptised - Lawrence MURRAY and Johanna MAHONY
