MANNING RIVER September 27
Fatal accident - On Tuesday a fatal accident occurred to George [Wilhelm] SCHUBERT, an employe of Mr John McLeer's sawmill, Pampoolah. It appears that the man fell from a travelling winch-stand, a distance of 12 ft from the ground, and was picked up insensible. Medical aid was immediately obtained, when it was found that he had sustained a compound fracture of the skull. He died the same evening, leaving a wife and grown-up family.
